FAMILY - SALICAEAE NAME LATIN - Salix tetrasperma SANSKRIT - JALVETAS HINDI - VETA PUNJABI - BIS
Origin - Its tree is found in Himalayas at a height of 6000 feet and in Nilgiris at a height of 7000 feet. Mainly they are found in western India and in parts of Kashmir.
CHEMICAL CONSTITUENTS - Its bark contain 6.5% tannin.
Uses: It is mainly used in poisoning and in Hydrophobia. It is used to treat leprosy. It is used in impotency. Used in fever. It is used as a cardiotonic. Used in mental disorders, and in joint disease. Used in vaginitis. Decoction is used in conjunctivitis and Headache.
